Count My Lies - a woman infiltrates a wealthy Brooklyn family in this highly entertaining, twisty thriller.

Writer's picture: MicheleReaderMicheleReader

Sloane Caraway, a habitual liar, lives in Brooklyn. While walking in the park during a work break, she sees Jay, an attractive man sitting with his young daughter Harper, who was just stung by a bee. Sloane rushes to the child's aid concocting a story that her name is Caitlin, and she is a nurse. When she meets Jay's beautiful wife, Violet, Sloane is completely enamored and seeks a way to become part of this perfect family, something she never had. Her wish comes true after she becomes Harper's nanny. The lies keep adding up and the twists begin in this clever story as perspectives shift from Sloane to Violet and then Jay. Sloane isn't the only one telling lies.

Count My Lies is an outstanding debut novel by Sophie Stava. It's a fast-paced, fun read that's completely jaw-on-the-floor wackadoo. Does it push the limits of believability? Definitely. But who cares? It was very entertaining and kept me up most of the night. Isn't that why we enjoy thrillers? Buckle up for this winner.
