In My Dreams I Hold a Knife – a 10-year college reunion is the setting for this strong thriller.

Jessica Miller appears to have it all. Her career is soaring and she looks great. But as she plans to attend her 10th reunion at North Carolina’s Duquette University, all her insecurities start flooding back. She wants to show up looking perfect and touting her professional success. But being a part of the “East House Seven” brings with it a lot of memories – good and bad. All seven people in the group won’t be attending the reunion. Her friend Heather Shelby was murdered in their senior year. And Jack, Heather’s former boyfriend, refuses to attend as everyone believes he murdered her. While there was damning evidence, it was not enough to charge Jack for the crime.

At the reunion, Heather’s younger brother Eric, who now works at the school, has been spending the past ten years trying to figure out who murdered his sister. He believes the killer is one of the five friends in attendance and forces the group to confront their past, interrogating each of them. Through flashbacks, it becomes evident that each one of the friends has dark secrets they have been hiding. Making everyone a viable suspect. Author Ashley Winstead does an excellent job keeping the tension high as the truth unfolds.

I fully enjoyed In My Dreams I Hold a Knife. It held me captive until the end.
