Miranda "Randi" Quinn is a former Assistant District Attorney who also hosted a TV talk show and late-night, call-in radio show. Now she serves her Connecticut community as a legal aid attorney and volunteers to help at-risk girls. One girl Randi decides to help is Lennon, the daughter of her high school friend Charlene, who has spent most of her adult life in and out of prison and rehab. When Randi learns that several girls in state-run homes have been disappearing, she goes into action to investigate, especially as Lennon's safety is threatened. Randi also learns that her wonderful husband Eric wants to take a new job in London. She has no choice but to support his decision even though she doesn't want to leave her family and friends. But in the meantime, a possible human trafficking network is Miranda's priority.
Miranda Fights is the third installment in author Gail Ward Olmsted's series centered on the smart, passionate, and feisty Quinn. Each book can be read as a standalone but treat yourself to all of them as each offers intelligent, witty, fast-paced stories. Miranda is a well-developed, likable character who balances her career with her marriage and makes time for her ex-cop father and his wife Sally. The book offers an entertaining blend of legal intrigue and domestic relationships.
