Such a Quiet Place - How well do we really know our neighbors?

Welcome to Hollow’s Edge, a small community on Lake Hollow in Virginia, close to the local college and prep school where most of the homeowners are employed. Such a lovely place. But the home of Brandon and Fiona Truett lies empty. The Truetts are deceased and twenty-five year old Ruby, one of the people living in the community, had been charged with their murder. After fourteen months in prison, charges were overturned on a technicality. She is now presumed innocent. And now, Ruby is back, brazenly showing up at the home of Harper Nash, her former housemate. The close-knit neighbors are shocked. Some are scared. Most believe Ruby did it. What secrets lie behind the many security cameras, gossipy online Community Page and behind- door whispers in this idyllic neighborhood? If it wasn’t Ruby, was it one of them?

Such a Quiet Place is another enjoyable, suspenseful book by Megan Miranda. The story takes its time to establish all the characters in this tightknit community but by the mid point, the story gears up and you’ll be going in multiple directions until the truth is revealed. It’s an intelligent and creative mystery.

Many thanks to Simon & Schuster and NetGalley for the opportunity read this engaging, slow-burn locked-box mystery thriller in advance of its July 13, 2021 release.
