Emma and Leo have been happily together for ten years. The couple lives in London and have an adorable young daughter Ruby. Emma is a marine biologist who has achieved fame as a presenter on televised documentaries. Leo is an obituary writer who is well known in his field. While Emma is dealing with health issues, Leo’s editor suggests that the paper create an obituary for his wife to have on file, a standard practice for people who are famous. Leo wants to write it himself. He starts discovering information about Emma that doesn’t match with what he’s believed to be her background and starts questioning everything about the woman he thought he knew better than anyone. As Leo’s world starts to fall apart, actress Janice Rothschild goes missing. And Leo learns that Emma and the missing woman may have a connection.
Author Rosie Walsh brings us what appears to be a sweet love story and then turns it on its head. What is Emma hiding? Is Leo truly the love of her life? The Love of My Life is told from the perspectives of both Emma and Leo. We get more and more clues to Emma’s true history but like Leo, we are left in the dark until the painful truth is revealed. It’s a strong story that tugs at the heart and will keep you guessing.
