Sadie and Will Foust inherit an old house on a remote island off the coast of Maine – the place where the husband’s sister committed suicide. So you know this is not going to be a smart move. The family is in need of a fresh start – the couple has marital issues, the wife (a doctor) was forced to leave her job at the hospital and their older son did something really bad at his school. In addition to the new house, the couple become guardians to their orphaned niece who is rebellious and troubled. Camille, a former friend of Sadie / ex lover of Will is on the prowl. Elsewhere, a young child is abused by an evil stepmother. Anything else to add to this already crowded nightmare? Oh yes, the Foust’s new neighbor is murdered.
In typical Kubica style, we are taken on a thrilling ride with lots of twists and turns. Buckle up.
