Joel is a loner. Since childhood, he has had dreams that always come true. His dreams are only about those he loves so he keeps his circle small. He avoids romance and has few friends. Some dreams reveal happy news to come, some foresee bad things that can be avoided with some creative warnings. Others show illness and tragedy.
When Joel meets Callie, there is an immediate attraction he tries to resist as Joel fears that if he falls in love, he may dream of something tragic about Callie. Which is exactly what happens. So if you know something bad is going to happen to the person you love, can you stay together and make the best of things even if you are on borrowed time? Joel is heartbroken as he knows her fate. Callie doesn’t want to know what is to come. Would you?
The Sight of You is a moving story of love and sacrifice. It’s a beautiful, well-written book where tears are unavoidable. If you don’t mind getting all weepy at the end of a book, I recommend you go on this journey of two people who have finally found true love but know that it is going to end.
