Christina Lauren, the writing duo Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings, are on my go-to list of authors to choose when it's time for some joy and romance. Their last book The Soulmate Equation was a sweet, satisfying story of a couple who meet through a unique matchmaking company that uses DNA to reveal your best matches and hopefully your soulmate. The heroine of the book had a fun, sassy friend Felicity “Fizzy” Chen, who is a successful romance writer. In The True Love Experiment, it's now Fizzy's turn to search for love, something that has eluded her.
Fizzy is recruited to appear on a new dating reality TV show which will incorporate the DNA-matching technology which brought her best friend love but this time. She will have a group casted for the show fitting the types of men she finds most appealing. Her DNA compatibility with the men will be revealed at the end. One problem though, there is an immediate attraction between Fizzy and the show's producer, Connor Prince, a single dad who would prefer making environmental documentaries.
Are you a fan of reality TV dating shows? I had stopped watching them, but the latest installment of The Bachelor has me watching again, and prompted me to finally pick-up this book, which has been sitting on my to-be-read list. It's fun and sweet and a tad steamy. Another winner from a writing duo who always seem to get it right.
