Note: I normally don't review a book from the previous year but I feel this book didn't get enough notice and now that people are staying inside, it's a good time to discover The Woman In The Park.
What a wild ride! Incredible that this is a debut effort. This is exactly what you want in a psychological thriller.
Sarah thinks her husband is having an affair. Her children are away at boarding school. She's in therapy. Sad and bored, she meets a man in the park and feels they have a connection. They start a relationship.
The police soon show up questioning her about a missing woman from the park and Sarah becomes their prime suspect.
This is a very good story with lots of twists and unexpected turns. What is real? What is a delusion? And what a nice break to read a book that isn’t super long – no wasted space here. Just a delicious story.
Glad to read that a movie of this excellent book is in development. Many thanks to Edelweiss, Beaufort Books, authors Teresa Sorkin and Tullan Holmqvist for the advance copy.
